The „Rock Legends“ project

collectible commemorative banknotes

The "Rock Legends / Music Legends" project focuses on producing collectible commemorative banknotes depicting famous musicians, singers, and bands.

These are classic hand-drawn pencil and pen drawings; we don't use scans and AI.

The artistic style of our graphics is realistic yet distinctive.

We have participated in producing commemorative banknotes before, and this project reflects our love for music.

In addition to the collector's edition, we offer our artist clients several options for using these drawings.

It includes the possibility of using them as merch during individual tours, such as posters, calendars, and even collectible memorabilia banknotes.

A commemorative banknote resembles actual fiat currency notes, but it does not serve as a currency but as a souvenir, a collectible memento.

Our banknotes have formal elements that connect them — the guitar symbol, the strings, and the name ROCK LEGENDS, the name of the fictional currency.

Unique is always the depiction of the artist/band on the obverse and reverse of the banknote with the addition of elements symbolizing his work/music, his individuality, and possible short quotes from the lyrics of his songs.

1) concert version (cheaper version) - merch for concerts

This edition of banknotes will be sold together with other merch before and during concerts.

The motifs of these banknotes are linked to the current tour and the current album or will be made to individual custom requirements.

The more affordable "concert" banknote does not contain all the collector banknotes' security features, symbols, and materials.

What the concert banknote brings to the client:

  • strengthens the relationship between the fan and the artist/band
  • has a substantial sentimental value linked to a specific concert experience
  • brings direct revenue to the client
  • later on, the "remittance" can still be offered in the artist's web merch section as a commemorative merch

2) collector's version (more expensive version)

  • this version is more expensive because the banknote contains more expensive security features, metallic, watermarks, UV signs, and more complex printing - i.e., the banknote material and its composition and the production itself is many times more expensive compared to the concert banknote
  • the target group is wider. Apart from music fans, it is also banknote collectors (notafili)
  • the motif of a collector's banknote is timeless and can be linked to a greatest hits, an album, an event, or members.
  • We can handle worldwide distribution, or it would be a matter of agreeing on how and where the collector note issue would be distributed.

3) Core fans - collector's set:

  • an individualized set of banknotes charting the history of an artist/group
  • can be signed by the artists

Idea - Composition:

Composition and use of motifs and elements associated with the music and artists depicted.

The banknote has a "guitar" background, with tactile markings placed on the guitar's "fingerboard."

The banknote is crossed horizontally by 'strings'. They are formed by the repeating microtext ROCK LEGENDS.

The 'strings' are compositionally the portrait's background on the banknote. Behind John Lennon's head is a drawing of the SP record (single).

The single under the strings complement the guitar composition - it represents a circular hole on a classical guitar.

It is a famous single, "All you need is love".

The word LOVE is the main idea of the design, so it is presented as a monetary unit (1000 LOVE) and placed as a subtle grid on the left side of the green background.

The title, "All you need is love", is deliberately not given in full - the word LOVE is missing.

The person who starts reading the title will subconsciously add the punchline, the main idea - LOVE.

Security elements of the banknote

Banknote reverse - back side

The back side is universal, practically the same for every edition.

It is distinguished by the number series / banknote codes, possibly different color variants and possibly a personalized watermark or hologram referring to the obverse of the banknote.

If the featured artist is interested in being on the reverse as well, such a version is realized upon agreement, then the universal musical motif on the reverse is significantly reduced and is placed on the reverse as one of the musical motifs / symbols.
